In the sunny courtyard of Lewisham Nursing Home, residents celebrated the Queen’s Birthday with a sausage-sizzle BBQ and lively jazz music. ‘Mambo italiano’ was a crowd favourite with employees, Lota and Pradeep dancing and mixing with the residents.
Yuki and John (Musicians) have performed at Lewisham on a number of occasions.
“I love seeing the residents enjoy the music. It is touching to see them singing along and dancing with the employees. We share something very special through music,” said Yuki.
Money raised from the sausage sizzle will go towards creating two new sensory gardens – one at Lewisham Nursing Home and one at a neighbouring Retirement Hostel. The gardens are expected to be installed at the end of June.
