Building a sustainable future
At Catholic Healthcare, we’re committed to caring for both people and the planet. Guided by our mission and values, we’re building a sustainable future by reducing our environmental impact, supporting our communities, and strengthening how we lead and serve.
From lowering emissions and reducing waste, to fostering inclusive workplaces and upholding strong, ethical governance—every action we take is shaped by compassion, stewardship, and a deep sense of responsibility to those we care for, now and into the future.
Environmental Stewardship:
At Catholic Healthcare, caring for our common home is part of our mission. Guided by our values of compassion and stewardship, we are committed to reducing our environmental footprint while supporting the wellbeing of our residents, clients, and broader community.
We are:
-
Actively working to lower our carbon emissions through smarter energy and waste management
-
Exploring renewable energy solutions across our homes and services
-
Repurposing equipment and materials to reduce landfill waste
-
Embedding sustainability into how we build, operate, and care
Each step we take reflects our commitment to care-for people, for creation, and for future generations.
Social Responsibility
At Catholic Healthcare, people are at the heart of everything we do. We’re committed to fostering inclusive, compassionate communities where residents, clients, and staff feel safe, supported, and valued.
We focus on:
-
Providing person-centred care that respects dignity and individuality

Supporting workforce wellbeing, training, and development
-
Creating inclusive, respectful environments for all backgrounds and beliefs
-
Partnering with communities to extend care beyond our services
We serve with heart—guided by our faith and dedication to the people we’re called to care for.
Governance
Strong governance underpins our mission and ensures we act with integrity, accountability, and transparency in all we do.
We are committed to:
-
Upholding ethical leadership and responsible decision-making
-
Meeting the highest standards of clinical safety, risk management, and compliance
-
Embedding continuous improvement and clear accountability across all levels
-
Remaining true to our mission, values, and Catholic identity in all areas of governance
We lead with trust, so those in our care—and their families—can have confidence in the way we operate.

Modern Slavery
Catholic Healthcare is committed to upholding human dignity at all stages of life. This includes not only the community members we care for, but all people and suppliers we engage with to deliver services. In our dealings with stakeholders, we seek to promote the core principles of Catholic Social Teaching.
In accordance with the Federal Government’s Modern Slavery Act 2018 (Cth) (The Act), we publish an annual Modern Slavery Statement that outlines the steps taken to ensure safe and fair conditions for all workers in our supply chain, to identify risks, and to work with high quality, ethical suppliers.

Reconciliation Action Plan
At Catholic Healthcare, we are committed to taking action to advance reconciliation with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, both in the communities we serve and within our own workforce.
Our Reconciliation Action Plan is an important first step in the process.
It is one that is strongly endorsed by our Board and Leadership Team, and across all areas of the organisation including Residential Care, Home and Community Services and Retirement Living.
The outcomes for our plan are based on 5 dimensions: Race Relations, Equality and Equity, Institutional Integrity, Unity and Historical Acceptance.
Acknowledgement of Country
We acknowledge the Traditional Owners and Custodians of the lands on which we live, work, and dream. We pay our respects to the Wallumedegal People. To their Indigenous Elders past and present, for they hold the traditions, culture, and hopes of their people as we journey towards reconciliation. We acknowledge that they have occupied and cared for these lands and waterways over countless generations. It always was, and always will be, Aboriginal land.
